Ms.
King was a Visiting Professor of Law at Willamette University College of
Law in Salem, Oregon, where she taught labor and employment law courses on
a full-time basis for academic year 1999-2000.
Until May 2000, Ms. King was a shareholder with the firm of Bullard
Smith Jernstedt & Harnish, P.C. Portland, Oregon where she
concentrated her practice in areas of disability discrimination and
accommodation, sexual harassment, family medical leave, and labor and
employment litigation. Ms. King
was formerly a partner with Lane Powell Spears Lubersky in Portland,
Oregon and was an Associate General Counsel for Boise Cascade Corporation
for five years prior to entering private practice.
She received a Bachelor of Business Administration, with honors,
from the University of Oregon in 1979.
She received a Master of Business in 1984 and a Juris Doctor degree
in 1986, summa cum laude, from
Gonzaga University, where she served as Articles Editor on the Gonzaga Law Review and was a Thomas More Scholar. Ms.
King is admitted to practice law in Oregon, Washington and Idaho (inactive
in Idaho). She is a member of
the American Bar Association, Labor Section, EEO Committee and the Section
of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar.
Ms. King is the author of numerous professional and academic
articles. Her most recent
article is entitled “The Family and Medical Leave Act: An Ethical Model
for Human Resource Policies and Decisions” and is published in Volume
83, No.2 Marquette Law Review
321 (Winter 1999). |
