Practice Description
Mr. Bosserman is a business trial lawyer. His practice focuses on the representation of businesses and health care insurers and providers and managed care entities in complex litigation, including class actions, as well as on advising employers on labor issues and defending employment related claims, including wrongful discharge, employment discrimination, ADA, violation of public policy, defamation, unfair competition, and misappropriation of trade secrets.

Practice Experience
Mr. Bosserman has a wide range of jury, bench and administrative law trial and arbitration experience, having successfully represented parties in trials involving claims for insurance bad faith, managed care liability, unfair competition, misappropriation of trade secrets, actions for injunctive relief, wrongful discharge, employment discrimination (age, sex, race, disability), sexual harassment, "whistle blower" claims, defamation, real estate fraud, lawyer malpractice, negligence, wrongful death and breach of oil and gas leases. He has also successfully argued numerous appeals at the state and federal level and has acted as an arbitrator in a variety of commercial actions. Mr. Bosserman is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). He is a former partner of MacDonald, Halsted & Laybourne and the international firm of Baker & McKenzie, where he was Chairman of the Litigation and the Employment Law Departments of Baker & McKenzie's Los Angeles office.

Cases
Wilson v. Blue Cross, successful defense of the first managed care liability case in California, involving claims of insurance bad faith, negligence and wrongful death.

Sherow v. Blue Cross, successful defense of an action by a group of former sales representatives for race discrimination based on business justification: reduction in force.

IPI v. Katayama, successful defense of an action for attorney malpractice involving sale of 40 acres of prime land in Hillsboro, California.

Bayside v. Fong, an action by a medical corporation against a former employee for misappropriation of trade secrets (patient list) and unfair competition. Verdict of $1,255,000 for the medical corporation.

Shoulten v. The Bicycle Club, a "whistle blower" action by former Human Resources Manager.

Weiss v. Kramer Motors, an action for "constructive discharge" involving claims gender bias and sexual harassment.

McManus v. Anchor Pad, an action for wrongful discharge and malicious prosecution of an unemployment insurance claim.

Sauter v. KESQ-TV, an action for age and gender discrimination.

Benedict v. Caputo, an action for real estate fraud.

Topanga & Victory Partners LP v. Omni Medical Centers et al., successful defense of civil RICO and real estate fraud action.

Barraza v. Stephenson etc., successful defense of pregnancy discrimination action.

Memberships
Mr. Bosserman is a member of ABOTA. He a member of the American and California Bar Associations (Litigation, Labor, Insurance and Health Care Sections). Mr. Bosserman is also a former member of the Board of Governors of the Loyola Law School Alumni Association.

Education
Mr. Bosserman both received his B.A. degree and attended the Masters Program at the Graduate School of Kinesiology at the University of California at Los Angeles before earning his law degree at Loyola Law School of Los Angeles.
