The United Public Workers, hereafter, "UPW"
or "Union",
and the City of County of Honolulu, hereafter
"City"
or "Employer",
selected the undersigned Arbitrator under Section 15 of the Unit 1
collective bargaining agreement to consider a grievance filed in case
number CZ/01/33 filed on August 30, 2001 challenging the Employer’s
suspension of Arthur Salas, hereafter
"Grieving
Party",
for five working days.
Dennis Neufeld and Fay Yamamoto of the Department of Human
Resources represent the Employer and David M. Hagino represents the

The
UPW and the City and
2.
The
current Unit 1 Agreement is for the duration of
3. Sections of
the Unit 1 Agreement that are relevant to this Grievance are Sections
11. and 58.
4. The
grievance filed by the UPW in CZ/01/33 is hereby resolved as herein
provided.
5. The Employer
shall reduce the five (5) working
day suspension to three (3) working days and reimburse the
Grieving Party lost wages and benefits for two (2) working days.
