Professional Background: Labor and employment law practitioner (1984-2006) prior to becoming full-time neutral. Practice included representation of management in litigation and administrative proceedings arising under federal and state employment discrimination and labor law statutes.
Professional Dispute Resolution Experience: Service as neutral in employment disputes has involved serving as arbitrator or mediator in cases arising under state and federal discrimination statutes and state common law claims on behalf of the following courts, agencies and/or organizations: American Arbitration Association, National Arbitration Forum, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Tennessee Human Rights Commission, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, United States District Courts and the Tennessee Supreme Court. Additional neutral services have included design and administration of grievance mediation program for state labor-management center; design of collectively-bargained workers' compensation program; and joint labor-management training and facilitation of interest-based collective bargaining, workers’ compensation, strategic negotiation skills, and arbitration practice.

Fees: For mediation and arbitration of individual employment law matters (discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, etc.), $250.00 per hour; $1,500.00 per diem. Covers all time spent in hearing/mediation preparation, time in hearing/mediation; and award-writing time, if any. Fees do not include time spent in travel, which is non-billable.
Separate fee schedule applies for arbitration of labor/collective bargaining mediations and arbitrations.
